Editorial source review: 2026-10-22 · Next review due: 2027-01-22

Start here: A reliable facilitator agreement, innovative business, step-by-step plan, registration and sufficient funds.

What does this route allow?

Work permission and limitations
Develop the approved startup. Employment by an employer requires a separate work permit (TWV).
Family questions
Check IND family routes separately before assuming that a partner or child can accompany you.
Costs to verify
Check IND’s current application fee; budget separately for the facilitator, documents and living costs.
Duration and next stage
Maximum one year; not extendable as a startup permit. A subsequent self-employed permit has its own requirements.

Application sequence

Use these steps to organize your research, not as a replacement for your authority’s current procedure.

  1. Agree a suitable facilitator relationship.
  2. Prepare the innovative-business plan and financial evidence.
  3. Check MVV requirements and the correct IND application procedure.

Evidence to investigate

This is a preparation prompt, not an exhaustive consular document list. Your nationality, application location and circumstances determine the final requirements.

  • Signed facilitator agreement
  • Step-by-step business plan and registration
  • Evidence of sufficient funds

Common planning traps

  • Passive investment alone does not meet the active-founder condition.
  • Moving to a self-employed permit after year one is not automatic.

Residence permission, permission to work, tax residence and short-stay travel rules are separate questions. No approval probability or settlement guarantee is calculated here.
